HP Compaq Elite 8300 Base Model Small Form Factor PC turns itself off and doesn't turn back on. Shows no sign of power, even though I have it on a working power cable

Greetings @Kifani1

Welcome to the HP Forum.

It sounds like the PC recently shut down and you cannot power on the PC (no: POST or video output) anymore. Is this correct?

Does the PC startup if you disconnect the PC from AC power, depress and hold down the power button about 20 seconds, wait awhile, and then reconnect the PC to AC power?

The recommended troubleshooting steps in your situation (the PC shows no sign of life) is to attempt a system startup (POST) using a minimum configuration.

A minimum config. would be:

- One stick of HP factory ram, one at a time, in each memory slot.

- Onboard graphics (if applicable) or try a different known good discrete graphics card.

- Power supply.

- CPU

You would then have to swap in, known good, replacement components until the PC will POST providing video output. You would start with the RAM and work your way down the above list.

The MB would be suspect if the PC will not start after replacing all of the above core components.

Regards
