HP DC7800 CMT
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi. Newbie, so please bear with me...

I've had an HP DC 7800 Convertible Mini Tower PC for many years. A few days ago it started making a horrible rattling sound. It's clearly a fan that's failing, and I reckon it's the PSU fan.

I'd like to be able to get in there and give it a good cleaning to see if that helps, or (if need be) replace the PSU entirely. However, there are 4 large non-standard metal screws preventing me from getting in there.

I'd be grateful if someone could tell me what tool I need to be able to access or replace the PSU in this PC.

Hi:

Those are Torx screws.

They are the same type that lock the hard drive into the drive bay.

You need a Torx T-15 driver for those.

You can buy one individually or in a set.
