Hi everyone,
I'm hoping someone can help me with updating the BIOS on my HP Desktop Pro PCI MT (Intel Core i7-7700).
I'm currently using this computer as a home server running Ubuntu Server 24.04 LTS. I'd like to update the BIOS to the latest available version, but I've been unable to find the appropriate firmware or instructions for updating it without Windows.
I'm also trying to install an additional PCIe network card, but the system doesn't appear to recognise it. I'm wondering whether this could be related to the BIOS version, a compatibility restriction, or a setting that needs changing.
I'd appreciate some advice on the following:
Where can I download the latest BIOS update for this model?
Is it possible to update the BIOS directly through the BIOS interface or using a USB drive, without installing Windows?
Are there any known restrictions on third-party PCIe network cards, or BIOS settings that could prevent them from being detected?
Any advice or links to the appropriate firmware would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
