Hello, I tried to find the find memory upgrade information for the HP Desktop Tower 251-a244 (Serial number [Personal Information Removed]) on the HP support web site but no success. The desktop has 6GB DDR3 currently. I would like to know the maximum supported. Other websites (not HP advise I can update until 16GB - 8GB DDR3 each slot). Any help would be appreciated.

Hi:

 

I believe that your PC has the Camphor motherboard according to the parts list.

I could only find this link for that motherboard which indicates 2 x 8 GB of DDR3-1600 MHz memory is supported.

So, if the picture in the illustration looks like your PC's motherboard, then you should be good to go with 2 x 8 GB of memory.

 

These should be compatible 8 GB memory chips for your PC:
