HP ENVY 34 inch All-in-One Desktop PC 34-c1000 (4G584AV)

Hi, I purchased a HP ENVY 34 inch All-in-One 16gb, i tried upgrading the memory to 32gb by adding Crucial RAM 16GB Kit (2x8GB) DDR5 4800MHz CL40 Laptop Memory CT2K8G48C40S5, when i boot the pc after adding it, i receive a message saying unauthorised memory added and then turns off.

Hi,

It's likely that there is a hardware protection feature enabled in the BIOS.

Try putting the old memory back in > press F10 on boot to go to BIOS > select Advanced > System Options > turn off Pre-boot DMA protection

You can now put your new memory in

It could be in device or slot security. Sorry I'm not very familiar with that particular bios
