HP Elite 7500 Microtower PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,
I have an HP Elite 7500MT with the PEGATRON 2AD5 (IPMMB-FM) motherboard. I am planning to replace the power supply, but I need to know if the motherboard uses a standard 24-pin ATX connector or if it has a proprietary pinout.
Can I safely use any standard ATX PSU, or do I need an adapter?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Best regards,
Lajk

@Lajk,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

Yes, your HP Elite 7500 Microtower (IPMMB-FM / Pegatron 2AD5) motherboard uses a standard 24-pin ATX power connector, so you can safely replace the power supply with any standard ATX PSU without needing an adapter.

However, here are a few things to keep in mind:

  1. Check the 4-pin CPU power connector – The motherboard uses a standard 4-pin CPU power connector, so ensure your new PSU has a splitable 4+4-pin CPU power cable. Almost all modern ATX PSUs do.

  2. Physical space – Ensure the new PSU fits properly within the case. Most ATX PSUs should fit without issues, but it's always good to double-check dimensions.

  3. Wattage upgrade – If you plan on upgrading other components (e.g., GPU), consider getting a PSU with sufficient wattage and the necessary PCIe power connectors.

If you need recommendations for a PSU, let me know your specific requirements (e.g., power needs, budget, preferred brands).

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,
