HP Elite 800 G1 AIO
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Hi friend,

Am in big trouble.Long days back my HP Eliteone 800 g1All in One started giving 511- cpu fan not detected error and I found that it was really not moving while rear chassis fan aside of it(as they both are on the same unit)was rotating smoothly. So I changed the entire fan unit.It worked hardly for 3-4 weeks and recently the pc again has started flashing 512-rear chassis fan not detected error and 511-cpu fan not detected errors.I doubt if this is an bios related issue. Please share the remedies if you have encoutered the same prolem.

thanks..

before you think the worst, please try replacing the  fan and then let us know if this did not work

note: cheap fans or a fan not designed for the system can have short lifespans the HP fan is a very high quality "MagLev" type fan

Many thanks DG..

Just want to share something about the issue. In last two months we have changed the fan unit twice. Both the times it worked for 2-3 days smoothly and the user reported  the same issue again after some days.As the replacement sent by my vendor,am not sure whether it holds the quality you expected.(HPL-733489-001HP ELITEOne 800G1 All In One..printed sticker it ihad..).The questions arrise ,if the above replacements were genuine what to be done next..is it board?smps OR bios update(most risky). At present only chassis fan is rotating..but system working fine..no blue dump..hang..restart..nothing..the user needs to hit f1 at startup..

Hi friends..happy new year..

same issue has occured in another identical model at workplace here..i have found third such in 7 months..is there any firmware update issue..as of now we have made one system up by changing the fan unit..what about the others..they may work after replacing the fan..but i am really tired of finding the root cause..too much hopeless..i am opting for at least the technical reason..what is causing the fans to fail?meanwhile i also have tried the bios update..it was successful but failed to bring the solution..in vain!is it so that the fans are failing after a certain life span as we have purchased these system almost around same time.
