How can I find a number HP

However, if your PC was not originally configured with an optical drive, you may also need the appropriate mounting hardware and front bezel, depending on your chassis configuration:

• M15635-001 — Slim optical drive blank bezel (if no drive is installed)

Btw, I double-checked the HP parts listing for the Elite Tower 600 G9. HP lists the slim DVD±RW drive (M75172-001) and the front bezel (M15634-001), but I do not see a separate slim optical drive mounting bracket/caddy listed as a service spare part.

If your system did not ship with an optical drive, please remove the side panel and check whether the internal optical drive latch/rails and SATA/power cables are already present. A photo of that area would confirm what parts are missing.
