Intel Xeon E3-1270 v5 upgrade to my EliteDesk 800 G2 SFF.

I found this https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/48616463, so somebody has gotten it to work.

I bought a 1270v5 chip and put it in, the computer starts and shuts down instantly. Very latest bios 2.xx

Few issues,

   - cpu might be broken, bought it from ebay, no way to test atm.

   - Only evidence of it working on the cpmputer is that 1 userbenchmark. so either he has hacked the bios or is fake.

   - Does bios support xeons?

   - Could be that older bios did support but somebody shut it down. (Is it possible to downgrade bios?)
   - Even though officially Q170 doesn't support Xeon the community is in consensus that it does and bios is the issue.

   - I read there is a secondary fan connector that it should be connected to enable higher power state?
   - Power might be inadequate to run the xeon. But then again it supports much higher TDP i7-6700k (Is there another power)?

So my question? Could somebody perhaps help me get it to work? Does anybody have any experience on running Xeons on SSF's

What do I hope? Well to be honest an official agnoletment on 2 things, does i7-7700 work on the board (It is listed in bios updates) and if possible enable Xeon support on next bios.

Thank you for reading this 🙂

One more thing, I didn't have a gpu installed. I will test this today.
