- HP EliteDesk 800 G3 DM (Mini) 65W: Chassis Fan for SSD

Hello! I've recently purchased a refurbished EliteDesk 800 G3 DM 65W. The machine works fine, however, I have noticed a quite loud and humming noise coming from it, audible even up to 10 meters away.
I unplugged the CPU fan to no avail, then found a secondary fan right below the SSD. Unplugging that, the noise disappeared. The EliteDesk now gives me warning 901 (missing chassis fan) on boot.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find any replacement parts for that particular fan on eBay so far. Only the primary CPU fan seems to be offered. Can the EliteDesk 800 G3 be safely operated without this fan since there's an SSD installed (not an HDD)? Or does this fan cool anything else than the SSD, too, and is therefore needed?
Thanks!

You're very welcome.
Unfortunately, you will have to live with that error report unless you replace the fan.
There is no way to not have it report the error in the BIOS that I know of (no setting to ignore errors).
35 C is fine.
My SSD idles at 42 C in a standard tower size PC (Dell Optiplex 7050 MT), and most NVMe SSD's don't give a warning until the drive reaches 70 C.

Hi:
Below is the link to the service manual for your PC.
Chapter 2, page 9, item 2 indicates that it is a secondary hard drive fan (for use in EliteDesk 800 G3 65W models).
This is the part number you need for the replacement fan.

Thanks a lot for the link. Seeing that it seems to be only an HDD fan, I'll leave it unplugged for now as the SSD won't require any cooling probably (the machine ran for about an hour now like this and the SSD stays at sub 35° C / 95 F). I'll keep an eye open for a replacement part.
Is there any way to turn off the 901 warning the system gives me upon boot? Or is this something I'll have to live with while the secondary fan is left unplugged?
