Dear friends,
I purchased a HP Card reader (see picture below) to upgrade my Elitedesk G2 800 Tower. The motherboard header (SD RDR) showed on the picture below is a 2 x 6 with one blank when the USB plug from the reader is a 2 x 5 with one epoxy filled.
I've tried to re-pin (lower pin range) the card reader connector and I've been able to get the USB port working but not the card reader. When I switch it around and then the card reader works.
I am assuming that the top row of USB header pins is not functional but it looks strange to me that the pins are there but not working. Is there a supporting document and/or pin diagram available ?
I also noticed two ports on the MB: 1. Media but there is no pins (to be soldered?) on it and 2. USB-C.
Maybe some HP experts have the answer?
