HP Recommended

Hi Guys,

I have an fairly old HP elitedesk 800 G1 SFF with an i5 4570 CPU 3.2 GHZ (4th generation), 16GB DDR3 memory, Gigabyte NVIDIA GFX 4GB GPU with a 240w psu  and  It is a bit slow on starting up, but runs ok. It has a socket LGA1150 and I think the motherboard is a chipset Q87.

 

My Son plays online games now and again and it would be a budget upgrade to be a little faster all round. 

 

The question is can the motherboard be upgraded to a G2 SFF and a i7 6700K CPU 4GHZ or i7 6700 3.4 GHZ socket LGA1151 Q170 chipset,  not sure if the BIOS needs to be flashed for the i7 6700K and that the PSU would be enough. The motherboard looks the same with some slight differences (locations) for the power cables on the motherboard. Thank you in advance.
