Hello. I am eyeing the purchase of an HP 700 Envy as a barebones rig. I know it can use Haswell and Devil's Canyon processors, but with it being a Z97 chipset, was it ever updated to support Broadwell? I would like to use an i7 5775c.

@KeeganJ92 , welcome back to the forum.
You can check the specifications of the exact model that you want to buy in this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en
Simply enter the Model or Product Number of the computer in the box provided. The processor information will be in the Motherboard Specifications in the section titled "Processor upgrade information". The processors listed have been fully tested to assure they are compatible with the motherboard. Any other processors will most likely not work. HP has their motherboards and other components made to their specifications. Therefore, they are not necessarily the same as a retail board.
