So I am trying to figure out what I can or cannot upgrade on this unit in order to get it up to specs as a gaming computer, I’m not to savvy with pc builds and upgrades however I’m pretty sure the processor is good enough from what I know I think it needs a graphics card and upgraded audio but not sure what to use as well as what other upgrades or if it would be cheaper to just build my own for gaming.

@Electronicsgeek , welcome to the forum.
Here is the Product Specifications page for the computer. If you look at the sections titled "Processor upgrade information" and "Memory upgrade information", you can see what is compatible with the motherboard. I agree the processor is acceptible, but an i7 would be better. As for memory, you should have plenty. The max memory is 16 GB and you would have to replace the existing memory to upgrade to this max. The motherboard has Dual channel memory architecture. This means that the memory should be installed in matching pairs.
You will most likely have to upgrade the power supply unit (PSU) to upgrade to a discrete video card. Most of them require at least 400W to operate properly. I normally recommend at least 500W to 600W. The existing PSU is only 300W. There are video cards that say they will run with 300W, but some members have stated that 400W is better. Here is an example of a card that will work with your existing PSU.
Now, as for audio. I suggest buying a good set of speakers and try them with the integrated audio to see if it is acceptable. I have never installed a sound card in any of my systems.
