HP Inc. - SoftwareComponent - 1.42.2770.0 shows that it is ready to be downloaded but I clicked on the download and nothing happens. I tried last night and again today with the same result. Has anybody else had a problem downloading it?

Hi:
I know what that update is, but I don't see that version on the Microsoft catalog website.
The latest version I see on the website is this one...
The update is to the HP Application Enabling Software Driver
This is what it does...
HP Application Enabling Software Driver is a virtual driver that offers general custom capabilities utilized among HP applications after transferring to the Microsoft Store app with HSA architecture. This package is provided for supported computer models using a supported operating system.
It's possible it was removed.
If you want to not have that update show up, run the Microsoft Hide windows update utility that I zipped up and attached below.
Unzip the update and run the file.
When the utility has completed running, a window will open, and you can check the box to hide the update.
No doubt there will be future updates to that driver so I would not be overly concerned that the one you have now is not working.
I don't even see that driver on your PC's support page so here is the latest driver HP has for that device if you want to install it.

If you get a message that you are trying to install an older version of the driver, just cancel out of the installation.
