Hi:

HP only has the service manual for the older model series.

Your notebook uses the same manual as the 15-dy0xxx model series as far as taking it apart is concerned.

I believe that notebooks with the Celeron processors only have one memory slot.

The slot will probably support 1 x 16 GB of DDR4-3200 memory.

Hi,

Yes this laptop has only 1 ram slot with 4GB. I did some research and some website say maximum is 8 GB some say 16GB, so thank you for replying to me.

You're very welcome.

You may be able to eliminate the different opinions about the max memory supported by running this command:

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

Hi,

I've already tried it, it turns out that the maximum is 32 GB, but the processor only supports 16 GB, right?
So I don't know whether to buy

8GB 3200MHz or 16GB 3200MHz or 32GB 3200MHz.

You should be able to install a 16 GB DDR4-3200 memory chip in the notebook.

My guess is the program is taking into account the circuitry for the second memory slot that is not there.
