I need to downgrade from BIOS F.44 Rev A to a previous version. BIOS F.44 Rev A has made it so my RAM can only be used in slots 12 or 34 but not 13, 24. Previously I could use all slots.

Hi @OMENGamer01

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how frustrating it must be to face this issue after a BIOS update, especially when it affects your system's performance. Downgrading the BIOS can be a solution, but it requires careful steps to ensure the process is safe and effective.

Here's how you can proceed:

Step 1: Verify the Previous BIOS Version

  1. Visit the HP Support website and search for your specific model (HP OMEN 25L, 894A ROM Group).
  2. Check if the previous BIOS version (F.43.A or earlier) is available for download.

Step 2: Prepare for the Downgrade

  1. Download the previous BIOS version from the HP Support page.
  2. Save the BIOS file to a USB drive formatted as FAT32.

Step 3: Enter BIOS Recovery Mode

  1. Turn off your computer and insert the USB drive with the BIOS file.
  2. Press and hold the Win + B keys, then press the Power button to turn on the system.
  3. Release the keys when the BIOS recovery screen appears.

Step 4: Flash the Previous BIOS

  1. Follow the on-screen instructions to select the BIOS file from the USB drive.
  2. Allow the system to complete the downgrade process. Do not interrupt the process or power off the system.

Step 5: Reset BIOS Settings

  1. After the downgrade, enter the BIOS setup by pressing Esc or F10 during startup.
  2. Reset the BIOS settings to default and save changes.

Step 6: Test RAM Slots

  1. Reinstall your RAM modules in slots 13 and 24.
  2. Boot the system and check if the issue is resolved.

Important Notes:

  • Downgrading the BIOS can carry risks, so proceed with caution and ensure the system is connected to a reliable power source.

I hope these steps help you restore full functionality to your RAM slots. Let me know if you need further guidance! 😊
