Hi, my OMEN is out of warranty and I'd like to do some upgrades on the system. I'd like to change the motherboard with a most powerful Gygabyte Z390 M GAMING and obtaining a better BIOS/UEFI configuration interface and functions.
Considering the actual motherboard installed (HP OEM Tampa 2) do you think that I could swap it?
Here is the link of the new one:
https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z390-M-GAMING-rev-10#kf
I'd like to know even if all of the I/O ports will be active, I mean all the fronts, including the Card reader. By the specs I think the swap can be done but I'm not sure about the internal connection.
If this is possibile, how can I manage the backside panel? The actual is settled to the main case and it includes the PCI bays. The new motherboard would fix only the I/O part. Is there a way to fix it?
Thanks for your support

Hello
I have not looked at the link of this motherboard, and even if done, not said that I can answer the question!
It's sometimes complicated to reconnect everything.
But before changing the motherboard, have you already changed the computer?
It is indicated 8 GB of ram, it can easily go to 16GB at least
The graphics card must also be able to be replaced by a more powerful one, 1070/1080 see may be more recent could work!
Why not the processor later ..

Yes, I've already added 8Gb of RAM and going to change the GPU but I'd like to install a MAC OS into an external SSD and I have to modify some specific settings on the BIOS that the actual motherboard doesn't have.
Phisically I pretty sure that I can chage the MB qith a new compatible but I'd like to know if I will miss some I/O or functions from the actual one.

there may not be a need for all that ..
just "Set SATA Mode to AHCI"
this line is useless ...
Since it is from a usb ssd, I advise you to test you will be fixed anyway!
the Disable Secure Boot Mode line must be there!
