Hi, I recently upgraded to an HP Omen 25L desktop for my generic/gaming use PC. I believe this is the right page for product specs for the one I bought: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/product-specs/omen-by-hp-25l-gaming-desktop-pc-gt15-1000i/model... (The model number is specifically GT15-1104.) I did upgrade the CPU to a compatible i7 processor for my needs, but that's the only thing that would be different from the specs.

I am looking at adding more RAM (as I only have one stick that I can see) and possibly adding more general storage on the hard drive further down the line; I'm just a bit lost when it comes to looking for compatible options that won't cost too much. I did find some affordable options (https://www.memorystock.com/memory/HewlettPackardOMEN25LGT151104.html) for the RAM that seems to be what I need, but I'm not sure what to do for the overall storage (though that's not a pressing issue, I have an external hard drive holding some non-essential files I still use).

Overall, I just want to be sure I'm looking in generally the right direction for both the RAM and the eventual hard drive storage. Any advice on what the best options to look for would be appreciated!

For upgrading for Gaming use:

32GB of memory should be plenty. Don't mix brands and module capacity.

If your PC has 2 x Kingston FURY 8 GB DDR5-5200 MHz XMP RGB Heatsink RAM (1 x 8 GB)  you shouod add two more of the very same soDIMMs.

Add a  512GB or higher 2280 PCIE NVMe M.2 SSD in one of the available M.2 slots to install the games and productivity software to.

Your PC has 2 ports specifically available for SSD.

Howdy,

I have an Omen 25L GT15-1104. I recently installed a Samsung 980 pro PCIe 4.0 NVMe ssd in the second ssd slot to use as a storage drive, but my BIOS and the Windows 11 OS do not detect it. Can you help me solve this issue?

I only have the single 8GB, but will stick to that brand; and I will look into the SSD! Thank you!
