Hi, I have an option to buy a barebones Omen 45L (Ryzen version) that is missing CPU and GPU, everything else is included.

My question is what CPUs can I use? I see it is sold with 5800X and 5900X on the AM4 platform, does the HP BIOS allow me to use for example a 5600G, or a 4600G even?

Thanks

Simon

hi

you don't give the model
there may be different motherboards, so different cpu options!

but this processor could be

HanaAOC motherboard specifications

AMD Ryzen 9 5900X (Vermeer) 3.7 GHz base clock, up to 4.8 GHz maximum boost clock, 64 MB L3 cache, 12 cores, 24 threads

105 W

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X (Vermeer) 3.8 GHz base clock, up to 4.7 GHz maximum boost clock, 32 MB L3 cache, 8 cores, 16 threads

so sometimes hp does not offer anything else, it's just what has been tested

Thanks for the reply, I do not have the PC yet so cannot give the exact motherboard ... but I am guessing HP have only tested those 2 CPU but others from the same generation are compatible ... just have to take a punt and see 🙂

it's up to you, but if the computer is sold stripped down, there's probably a reason
and not good I think!
ask yourself the question, why buy such a computer in order to withdraw the main one and resell the rest!!
avoid unpleasant surprises.

unless the price is very attractive and again ..

A valid arguement, thank you.

It is really the case/fans/PSU/AIO that I want so I planned to sell the motherboard anyway but was thinking maybe add a cheap CPU and create a 2nd PC from the spare motherboard etc.
