hp omen 880-130
Microsoft Windows 11

My current PC is an HP Omen 880-130.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/omen-by-hp-880-100-desktop-pc-series/18695893/model/18865688/do...

I recently bought a:   ASUS ROG Strix NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti OC Edition Gaming Graphics Card (PCIe 4.0, 8GB GDDR6X, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4a, Axial-tech Fan Design, 2.9-Slot, Super Alloy Power II, GPU Tweak II)

& it turns out the recommended PSU is at least 650W PSU.

My current PSU is 500W PSU.

I'm looking to upgrade the PSU, I'm wondering if this is possible? & How do I know what's compatible.

Thank you

@Emiliano7,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

Good news for you: your HP Omen 880-130 (2HJ63AA) as per: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/omen-by-hp-880-100-desktop-pc-series/18695893/model/18865688/do... is fitted with the Tampa2 motherboard which is ATX-power enabled. In other words, you can swap your existing PSU for any industry standard ATX power supply, just mind the dimensions (LxWxH).

So, measure the dimensions of your current PSU, and compare that to a replacement ATX PSU.

For example, the CORSAIR semi-modular TX650M measures 5.9 x 5.5 x 3.4 inches (LxWxH), which, if I am not mistaken, should fit in your PC. Of course, semi-modular PSUs cost more, but are so much easier/cleaner in terms of power cable management -you only plug in what you need. If there's plenty of room inside your case, go for the traditional non-modular PSUs which can be bought very inexpensively.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,
