Hi!

Will a HP Omen 880-100no with a (Higos 2) Promotary 2 B350 motherboard be compatible AMD's new Ryzen 3000 series? I know that AMD have announced B350 chipset and higher tiers will be compatible with their new Ryzen 3000 series, however, reports have also suggest that not every B350 will be compatible. What do you?

Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

 

Motherboard and system manufacturers can provide a BIOS update to support newer processors if the existing chipset will support the new processor.

 

HP would have to provide a BIOS update to support Ryzen 2 processors.

Hi, thanks for answering. B350 is already compatible with ryzen 2000 series. I was wonderinh about the new 3000 series soon to be released.

You're very welcome.

 

It is up to HP to provide a BIOS update at some point in the future.

 

There is no guarantee a 3000 Ryzen will work on the Higos motherboard.

Thank you. I guess I Just have to put some good faith in HP, consindering HP's vision with the Omen series is the possibility to upgrade parts with minimal hassel, combined with AMD's promise of the new 3000 series being backward-compatible with B350 chipset and higher.
