OMEN 25i Gaming FHD Monitor

HP Omen monitor resets to game settings after each shutdown. I must manually set again to preferred settings after each shutdown.

Hello!

Thank you for advice!

I disabled all suspicious  settings and monitor is not resetting any more. But now I must turn it on manually via button on back which is lot better than resetting constantly. And also HP Omen app now wants to preform changes to computer but I will uninstall. Otherwise monitor is excellent in terms of picture quality.

Best regards!

Hi @mutolay,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP Omen monitor is not retaining your preferred settings after each shutdown, reverting back to default or "game settings." There could be a few reasons why this is happening.

  • Software/Driver Issue: Ensure that you have the latest drivers installed for your monitor. Sometimes outdated or corrupted drivers can cause issues with settings not being saved.
  • Monitor Firmware Update: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your monitor. Updating the firmware might resolve the issue if it's related to a bug in the monitor's software.
  • Power Cycling: If you are unplugging the monitor or cutting power to it when you shut down your system, this could cause it to reset. Make sure the monitor remains powered on or connected to a power source even when your computer is turned off.
  • Resetting to Default: Check if there's a factory reset option in the monitor's menu settings. If there is, make sure it hasn't been accidentally triggered.
  • Power Saving Settings: Some monitors have power-saving features that can reset settings when they power back on. Check your monitor's power-saving settings and disable any features that might be causing this behavior.
  • Check OSD (On-Screen Display) Settings: Ensure that any settings related to auto-adjust or auto-configure are turned off in the monitor's on-screen display menu.
  • Hardware Issue: If none of the above steps work, there might be a hardware issue with the monitor itself.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
