Hi
it seems the RAM slot 2 of this PC is faulty. I never used it before. The same RAM will work in 1st slot but not second.
I did not find solution for this.. I wanted to put another 16gb ram to the PC but since I cant, I wanted to ask: is there a 32GB ram compatiable with this PC?
thanks in advance 🙂

Welcome to our HP community forum!
Your HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop 690-0002nl (4PP75EA) is either fitted with a Lincs motherboard (SSID: 843B) or a Sunflower motherboard (SSID: 8433) -please verify. Either way, they can be fitted with up to 2 x 16GB of DDR4 PC4-21300, 2666 MHz, Non-ECC, Unbuffered, DIMM (UDIMM), 288-pin RAM. Many people install DDR PC4-25600, 3200 MHz RAM, which will 'bridge' (down throttle) to 2666 MHz (the max allowed RAM speed in your PC).
I don't see a problem with installing a single 32GB RAM stick, that should work, like this 32GB RAM Amazon-Spain purchase example: https://www.amazon.es/Kingston-KVR32N22D8-32-Memoria-3200/dp/B084GKDJ6M/ref=sr_1_12?__mk_es_ES=%C3%8....
That should work. If it doesn't (and that would surprise me), you should be able to return the RAM stick to Amazon to get your money back.
Hope this was helpful.
Kind Regards,

Thanks so much for you help.
I checked with cmd the motherboard. it displays " Lenovo provence -5R1"
The issue I think - maybe you can confirm. If the same RAM stick works fine on RAM slot 1 but fails completely on RAM 2, does this not mean the RAM 2 is faulty? maybe dirty or god knows. but after trying several ones like:
https://www.amazon.es/dp/B019FRBCQE?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
according to official crucial website
https://www.crucial.es/compatible-upgrade-for/hp-compaq/pavilion-690-00xx-(amd-ryzen)
It simply keeps beeping if ram stick is on the slot 2 , but works fine if it is on slot 1
so maybe my ony choice is the 32GB. But I would much prefer to find solution for the other slot and have the 2x 16GB RAM sticks.

I completely agree with you, 2 x 16GB RAM is preferable over one 32GB RAM stick.
From what you described, it appears that your second RAM slot is faulty for one reason or another. It could be debris like you said, it could also be a bend RAM-slot pin: I would very carefully inspect your RAM slot with a magnifying glass to see if anything is twisted, not-aligned or damaged and using compressed ("canned") air to blow out the RAM slot. Of course, your RAM slot could also be 'toast', meaning, you'll have to replace your motherboard.
At least in the US, eBay would be a great place to find an affordable motherboard replacement.
