Product: hp pavilon 690 00xx

Hello

 

I have a hp pavilion 690 00xx which has only two RAM slots.  I  tried placing another compatible RAM in the available slot. Thee PC would not turn on. I believe it was 3 long beeps followed by 2 short beeps. 

 

I wanted to make sure this was not an incompatibility issue with the new RAM purchased so i simply switched the original RAM to the other slot and the same issue happened. So not sure if this means it is a faulty RAM slot/dirty. The pc did have little dust inside but the RAM slot seemed fine and I i made sure with a paper it not have dirt inside. Seemed fine.

 

Any idea? Would really appreciate
