When using the HP PartSurfer tool, I notice the only way to get a list of components and part numbers (BOM) configured for a specific system is by a serial number search.  You can't get the component list (BOM) by product id which only returns just general product family components. Is there a way to get the serial number(s) associated with only having the product id?

I have a few product ids of similar AIO systems on the used market and would like to lookup the BOM part numbers to compare various configuration components with my HP 24-f AIO.  For instance, I'm looking to upgrade/replace the HP 24-f series AIO AMD A9 motherboard (non-Windows 11 compatible) with an equivalent form-factor Intel MB with i5-8250U processor (Win11 compatible) plus possibly switch to a touchscreen too. In the used market, sellers typically provide only the product id but not always the serial number.  Yeah, you might be thinking "why not just buy a used Win11 compatible AIO?."  It may become the only alternative but, if I can just swap out the MB, my system can last a few more years.  I hate to recycle a perfectly good working AIO if I don't have to.

What I'm thinking is why not just upgrade yours as it is and not spend a dime?

If you are happy with your PC, and if you are interested in doing an in-place upgrade from W10 to W11 24H2 on your PC as is, watch this video, which is the easiest way to do it in my opinion, and I have tried many different ways to do this during the last 3 years.

How to Install Windows 11 on Unsupported PC in 2025 (New Easiest Method, No CMD)

Download the W24H2 ISO file and use that (3rd option).

Download Windows 11

You can download the free 7-Zip file utility from the link below. The top line is for 64 bit.

7-Zip

You'll have to repeat this procedure if and when Microsoft rolls out the new W11 builds because a PC that does not meet Microsoft's minimum W11 hardware requirements will never automatically get the update to the next build.

They have been releasing new W11 builds each October so far.

Other than that, your PC will continue to get the monthly cumulative and other updates.

That's only a minor inconvenience to have continued OS support beyond October of 2025.

If things don't work right on W11, you have 10 days to easily go back to W10 as long as you don't delete the W1 upgrade files or the Windows.old folder.

Thanks for the suggestion and the video link Paul.  It is a much simpler method than I had found.  The thought of trying the unsupported way to upgrade to W11 is my last option but really would like to find a compatible replacement i5-8250U MB for my AIO AMD A9-9425 MB.  My plan is to give the system to a family member who lives a distance away so I'm looking to avoid, if at all possible, having to remember to and repeat the upgrade procedure when Microsoft rolls out a new W11 build.  If HP PartSurfer returned the serial number(s) for the specific product id would make it much easier in my case to find and compare part numbers. I guess I'm stuck with corresponding with a seller to try and get the serial number of the system which slows down my research.  Another option is to go a local HP Service Center but the techs are not much help and don't want to spend the time searching for compatible parts.  They just want to do repairs.

You're very welcome.

The Intel models would be 24-f0000i.

The Intel motherboard used in the 24-f0000i model series is the HP 'Apulia' motherboard as referenced in this discussion:

Solved: Re: hp 24-f0151d can upgrade ssd m.2 ? - HP Support Community - 8643530

The problem is there is no part numbers listed for that motherboard on any models I found in the partsurfer database.

It just shows the processor.

Here are the specs on the motherboard.  Apparently, it also supports the i5-9400T processor as well.

Doing a search on eBay, I was able to find the Apulia motherboard part number:

Hi Paul,

HP PartSurfer returns no results for 24-f0000i.

The links in the discussion you referenced for the Apulia motherboard are broken but I found specs via an great eBay seller.

HP 22-C Apulia All in One Motherboard LGA 1151 L03375-001 L03375-601 DAN97AMB6D0

I don't think the Apulia motherboard is compatible with my system. It is not the same form-factor.

My system:

HP All-in-One 24-f0020

Product ID:  5QA73AA

Serial Number :  8CC01919KR

Rhone Motherboard:  L03378-602

Processor:  A9-9425

From my research, the Tuscany-R motherboard with Intel I5-8250U CPU (L13474-002/602) has the same form-factor.  It is a identical to the Rhone MB with all the same connectors and ports.  Only differences I see are the RAM (DDR4-2133 vs DDR4-2400) requirement and requires a different heatsink.  I still need to nail down the compatible heatsink part number for the Tuscany-R i5-8250U MB.  I found an eBay seller that is very thoughtful and generous in providing motherboard specs with their ads.

Here are the specs for comparison.

HP Pavilion 22-C 24-F AMD A9-9425 Rhone Motherboard L03378-002 L03378-602

HP 22-C 24-F Tuscany-R Motherboard Intel I5-8250U CPU L13474-002 L13474-602 L21598-001

Unfortunately, HP PartSurfer shows no photo or "List Of HP Products That Part Number Is Used In" for either MB models.

Your thoughts? Do you see any further differences or issues to consider?

Hi:

If you think that what you found is more of a direct match, then go with what you feel is the right choice.

You will also need to find the heatsink you need for the Intel motherboard because it will probably be different.

The fan may be too.

I don't have any other comments or suggestions to add.

Cheers,

Paul

Thanks for the tip on the fan too. So, at this point, I'm waiting and looking for someone to post a 24-C or 24-F system with i5-8250U processor so I can get the serial number and lookup the part numbers of heatsink and fan.

Thanks for your time and help!
