The power supply has started off and on making a whirring noise. Blew out all the dust in the tower and the power supply and it is still making noise. Part no longer available in the HP Store so trying to find a replacement on Amazon but it is a bit confusing to me.
Support says the part is " Power Supply - GNRC, 300W ES6 Bronz Gamay2-gfx" but the label on the power supply itself says it is a "Lite-On PS-6301-07". Not sure what is the right one to get.
Appreciate any help, thank you!

hi
I did some tests with other models and it indicates each time what you found, but the list being long, I only tried three or four!
https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer?searchtext=2WB82EA
but you can take the opportunity to install a more powerful one, and not necessarily the HP model
I don't know if this helps:

Hi,
Thanks for the help. The first link didn't work btw.
Some friends suggested getting a different PSU, I am just nervous as to figuring out how to make sure it fits and can be screwed in and also if it has the right connectors. The whole thing is more complicated than I thought.
Chances are I'm just going to upgrade to a new PC sometime soon but for the amount of money it is worth fixing this issue so I think I am just going to try and replace with the same part. Just trying to make sure it is the right one...
Thank you again!

I performed a search for the original PSU. The price varies, so shop wisely.
Lite-On is a good brand.
I revised my search to the UK. I see it available for £18- £30 in eBay.co.uk. You probably won't find it cheaper than that.

I don't see what link you are talking about, I tried and it works for the three that I gave
for the power supply, do a little more research with the links given, a non-hp power supply will most certainly be cheaper!
Unless I am mistaken, it is explained in the community link how to search, and it seems to me that examples are quite easily found in the community or on the net!
