Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

According to the specifications it says I can upgrade the ram up to 8G unbuffered.  Does this mean that there is a buffered memory card that would allow me to put more than 8?  Not certain on the terminology of unbuffered and how that reflects the amount of memory the machine can handle.  It is using the 64 bit OS so the maximum for that is much higher.  Thanks.

@DECow, welcome to the forum.

Here is a definition of unbuffered memory:

Unbuffered memory, or unregistered memory, is memory in which no hardware register exists between a RAM chip and a memory controller. Unbuffered memory is not as stable as buffered memory, but is faster and cheaper to implement.

Your motherboard can't use buffered memory.  The maximum memory that your motherboard can use is 8 GB unbuffered.
