I am interested in adding a SSD to my Pavilion 6717c.  There are 2 screws that secure the HD bay to case.  The Bay is still secured by something.  I can not see any additional screws, internal or external.  What is holding Bay in?

Greetings @iogene

Welcome to the HP Forum.

I don't have a case diagram. I can't say if one exists.

But I had a HP 560z chassis which is identical, in appearance,  to the p6717c chassis.

I'm jogging my memory. The drive cage is secured to the chassis using a release latch.

The drive cage release latch should be located at the back of the drive cage near the left side panel or the front panel. In any event, there is a drive cage release latch somewhere. Examine the area around the drive cage very carefully to locate this release latch.

The drive cage release latch might be obscured by cabling.

The drive cage should then slide up and out of the case while depressing the release latch.

Regards
