HP Pavilion Desktop PC 590-P0025ur
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP Support Community, Hello!

I have HP Pavilion Desktop PC 590-P0025ur without CPU now. This PC uses links motherboard Links MB on Intel H370 . Processor upgrade information section says that this MB supports Intel Pentium Gold G5420 and 9-nt generation of Intel CPUs (65W TDP versions). But this MB used i3-8100 CPU before with compatible bios version. Rus version of PC 590-P0025ur page says that CPU can be upgrade on 8-th generation of Intel CPUs.  Can i install now Intel Pentium Gold G5420 or I3-9100 cpu in this MB with old bios or i need 8-th gen. CPU to recover PC?

Thank you.

The specs of your machine is

You can install different CPU as long as it is on the list.  Normally newer BIOS will cover older BIOS as well.
