HP Pavilion Desktop - TP01-0070

Hi,

My Windows C: drive Capacity 931.51 GB is full. I'm getting full storage notifications or messages asking me to free up space, and I am unable to load or open some of my programs now. I think it may be because I automatically sink with iTunes and iCloud where I have tons of photos from my iPhone (turn off?).

Is there a specific internal disk or hard drive to install for additional storage in my HP Pavilion Desktop? If so what brand or type would be best for this desktop? I think I do have an additional bay for upgrades.

However, my Data 😧 drive, also Capacity 931.51 GB has 87% free space. I have an external Toshiba Hard Drive G: Capacity 931.51 GB that is 73% free space. I don't understand why I have no storage space left.

Do I need to have an additional hard drive for storage so I can open all my programs again? Or do I need additional Memory? I already have 16GB System Memory and 16 GB in Memory slot 1

Thanks, Sue

According to the spec page for that PC, it has 256 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD, which is probably the boot drive and designated as C.  The data drive is 1 TB 7200 rpm SATA, which is probably D.

I suspect it is the smaller SSD that is giving the warning of no disk space and that is quite common because HP does not warn the user to train Windows to use the D drive for storage.

Here is a guide on "How to free up disk space"
