Hello, Am wanting to hook up my new HP Laptop and old HP Pavilion Desktop p6204Y together with shared monitor, keyboard & mouse. Using a KVM switch the laptop is simple as it's new and has all the slots. However, the monitor is a VGA so I purchased a VGA to HDMI adapter and that works with the the laptop.
My problem is the Pavilion Desktop as it does not have HDMI and the only slot (other than USB) is the VGA for the monitor leaving it empty when I have the monitor now going to KVM switch. Not sure what to do. Should I order another VGA to HDMI adapter to plug in here? End result is the KVM cable that has HDMI on one end (goes into Switch) and HDMI plus USB that both must go to computer. I know this is confusing but, I've been at it for 2 days now.
Thanks for your suggestions.
