HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop 690-0037no
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I bought last year HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop 690-0037no to my son.

We decided to upgrade with a graphic card  Asus GEFORCE GTX 1660 6GB.

I need to know the best suitable power supply to this pc so can also supply this graphic card.

If possible provide me brand or model.

Appreciated!

@old_geekster,

@BrunoSE,

I will add your unit to the list.

The spreadsheet I created states a GTX 1660 needs a 400W PSU.  (It will have the required 6+2 PCIE power plug). Those boards use a proprietary supply, so you must order the L04618-800 from a reseller, or  HP Parts Store

@BrunoSE , welcome to the forum.

Unfortunately, the motherboard in your son's computer has a proprietary 4-pin power connector; not the standard 24-pin connector.  This means that it is difficult to upgrade it.

The GTX 1660 requires a power supply unit (PSU) with at least 450W and a 8-pin supplemental power connector.  I am going to ask another HP Expert to see if HP's 500W PSU will work.  @wb2001, with the L05757-800 PSU work with this members motherboard?
