@kingbing79,

HP moderators have to inspect any uploaded pic.  That black unused plug only shows 2 wires.  Is it part of the cabling for PCIE power 6+2 ?  http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnectors/connectors.html

Your motherboard without the GTX 1050 would have likely had the 180W PSU.  The 400W should handle a GTX 1660Ti card.

@kingbing79,

Study this spreadsheet.   Do you know the model of your 400W PSU?  There are 2 presently on the list.

The 400W can handle the GTX 1660Ti.

There is a 6 pin plus an extra 2 pin.  I put a pny 1660super single fan in and it fits and runs it for anybody else who is interested in upgrading.  I also added 2*8gb of pny  xlr8 2.66 ram and 1 tb samsung evo sdd and cloned the operating system and bootdrive  to it and it runs about a million times faster.  kept the original hdd for added storage and disconnected the optical drive because I don't use it and figured it'd help with power managment i'm sure im pushing the limits to what the 400w power supply can handle.  thanks for the help.
