I have a HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-1xxx and want to upgrade to an Intel i9-10850k 5.2 GHz without changing the motherboard. Is this possible or will I have to buy a full new motherboard?

According to HP Desktop PCs - Motherboard Specifications, Baker | HP® Customer Support, your HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-1160xt CTO (HP Baker Motherboard 8767), is only compatible with 65 watt TDP 10th gen Intel processors. The most powerful processors that complies with this TDP limit are the i7-10700 and the i7-10700F and maybe the i9-10900 / i9-10900F, but the performance difference between an i7-10700/F and an i9-10900/F doesn't warrant the extra money spend: UserBenchmark: Intel Core i7-10700 vs i9-10900.
Yes, I understand perfectly where you are coming from: the i9-10850K should theoretically be compatible with your LGA1200 socket and Intel H470 chipset, but it has a TDP of 125 watt, which makes it incompatible.
Also, I could not find any HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-1160xt CTO's online fitted with anything beyond an i7-10700F: UserBenchmark: HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-1xxx Compatible Components.
Hope this was helpful.
Kind Regards,

hi
this model is not here, because it is configurable, it is still in the shop here
Personally I have a little question, what configuration do you have originally, because it is basic with maybe 8 gb of ram and a basic graphics card gtx 1650
So if you don't have better like the minimum rtx 3060 proposed, it may be of interest to change the processor here
- Windows 11 Home
- Intel® Core™ i7-10700 (2.9 GHz up to 4.8 GHz, 16 MB L3 cache, 8 cores)
- 16 GB DDR4-2933 SDRAM (2 x 8 GB)
- No Optane
- 512 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD
- No HDD
- NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3060 (12 GB GDDR6 dedicated) with LHR, Display Connectors: HDMI*1, DP*3
