Hi @Kauaian,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your PC!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Upgrading the RAM and SSD of your HP Pavilion Gaming TG01-2285t can significantly improve performance and storage capacity. Here are the detailed guidelines on how to achieve these upgrades:

RAM Upgrade

Identify RAM Specifications:

  • Ensure compatibility by checking the type of RAM supported by your system. The HP Pavilion Gaming TG01-2285t supports DDR4 RAM.

Purchase Compatible RAM:

  • Purchase DDR4 RAM with the same or higher speed as your current RAM.
  • Maximum supported RAM capacity is up to 64 GB (2 x 32 GB).

Installation Steps:

  • Power off your computer and unplug all peripherals.
  • Open the side panel of the desktop case.
  • Locate the RAM slots on the motherboard.
  • Release the clips on both sides of the existing RAM module if you're replacing or adding RAM.
  • Align the notch on the new RAM module with the slot and firmly press down until the clips click into place.
  • Close the side panel and plug in peripherals.
  • Power on the computer and check that the system recognizes the new RAM by accessing the BIOS or checking the system properties in Windows.

SSD Upgrade

Identify SSD Specifications:

  • Determine whether you need a 2.5-inch SATA SSD or an M.2 NVMe SSD based on your current hardware configuration.

Purchase Compatible SSD:

  • Choose an SSD with the desired capacity (e.g., 256 GB, 512 GB, 1 TB).
  • Ensure it is compatible with either SATA or NVMe interface.

Installation Steps:

  • Power off your computer and unplug all peripherals.
  • Open the side panel of the desktop case.
  • Locate the SSD mounting area (for 2.5-inch SATA) or the M.2 slot on the motherboard.
  • For a 2.5-inch SSD:
    • Mount the SSD into the bracket provided or a bay designed for 2.5-inch drives.
    • Connect the data cable to the motherboard and the power cable from the PSU.
  • For an M.2 SSD:
    • Remove any existing M.2 drive if necessary.
    • Insert the M.2 SSD into the slot and screw it into place.
  • Close the side panel and plug in peripherals.
  • Power on the computer and follow any necessary steps to clone your old drive or install the operating system on the new SSD.
