Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi

I purchased a HP Pavilion TP01-2270nd last year. Very happy with it. It did not come with an Optical drive installed and I am now interested in installing one. Is this possible? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Karl

Hi @Idienswood,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To determine whether you can install an optical drive on your HP Pavilion TP01-2270nd, you'll need to consider a few factors.

  • Physical Space: Check if there is an available drive bay in the case where you can install an optical drive. Desktop cases typically have space for 5.25-inch or 3.5-inch drives.
  • Connectivity: Make sure that the motherboard has the necessary connectors to connect the optical drive. Most modern optical drives use SATA connectors.
  • Power Supply: Ensure that your power supply unit (PSU) has enough spare power connectors to supply power to the new optical drive.
  • Compatibility: Ensure that the optical drive you're considering is compatible with your system's operating system and hardware.
  • Installation: Installing an optical drive usually involves opening up the computer case and connecting the appropriate cables.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
