HP Pavilion Wireless Keyboard and Mouse 800 4CE99AA
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'd like to know how to unbind the function keys on this laptop so it dosen't automatically activate the "useful" functions (sound, brigthness, play/pause etc).

Is there anyway to change the settings on the keyboard where you have to press the "Fn" key simulataneously instead?

Would really help, these keys are often binded to microsoft office shortcuts.

Thanks,

@MrWhiteShirt,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I recommend you check in the BIOS whether there an option to disable the function keys.

Please refer to the below article for detailed steps.

NOTE: The article is for HP Notebook computer.

If there is no option in the BIOS then you will not be able to disable the function keys.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Hello. No, your advice did not work. Setting in bios does not affect this f...... external keyboard.

@pefol,

If the above didn't do the trick then you will not be able to unbind the function keys.

Cheers!
