HP Pavilion p6837c
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have been upgraded to 250 mbps internet speed adn have been told my current card is only capable of 100mbps. I am looking forthe part number to change the card and a procedure or video to complete. I have seen in other questions about using an ethernet to usb cord as a possible fix, Please advise.

That is true, your machine only has NIC:

  • Technology: PCI Realtek RTL8105E
  • Data transfer speeds: up to 10/100 Mb/s

and it has

  • Expansion Slots
    • 1 PCI Express x16 slot for graphics card
    • 3 PCI Express x1 slots
    • 1 PCI Express x1 minicard slot

You can add 1GB card to your machine and use that card. There are many around such as

I have researched and it has been suggested that I can use a j5create - USB 3.0-to-Gigabit Ethernet Adapter to complete the same thing, do you agree?  please advise.
