@quest7,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

That is a really good question. On first sight looking amongst 6,000+ HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-1xxx Users, not a single one of them has a "K" processor installed: https://www.userbenchmark.com/System/HP-Pavilion-Gaming-Desktop-TG01-1xxx/195603.

Then again, neither did any HP Pavilion Desktop TP01-3xxx Users, until I proved otherwise, first with an i5-12600KF, and then with the more powerful i7-12700KFhttps://www.userbenchmark.com/System/HP-Pavilion-Desktop-TP01-3xxx/267158.

Meaning, I can't think of any reason why you wouldn't be able to upgrade your TG01-1xxx up to an i7-10700K/F or the i9-10900K/F.

However, just like it would apply to your PC, you will have to upgrade your CPU heatsink and you'll have to consider improving the overall airflow through your case, as I showed in my upgrade link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Upgrading-an-HP-Pavilion-TP01-3..., and you'll have to use a freeware utility program called QuickCPU in order to limit the CPU power output to 150-watt as explained in my link.

Disclaimer: this method worked very well for my TP01-3xxx, and should work for your TG01-1xxx, but no guarantees of course, because we are playing outside the HP Reservation's sandbox.

Kind Regards,
