HP All-in-One Desktop PC 27-cr0000a (76M59AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Purchased this All in One PC  brand new at end of August 2024.

First few weeks it operated fine, but over a period of time I have noticed the fan cutting in more regularly (approx every 5-6 mins) and at times getting quite loud. Runs for about 30 secs at a time.

Note I do not use PC for gaming, video editing or anything requiring high power - just normal routine Office apps and very basic internet use.

The noise has definitely worsened over the 2 months Ive had the PC.

Seems to run faster and louder on certain sites - worse on browising a holiday booking site, and also browsing products on Amazon, for example.

I have been through every obvious diagnostic task and tools with HP Tech Support. In addition, I can confrim that the vents are not covered, plenty of room to breathe, and the computer is nearly new so obviously not going to be dust build up.

HP Tech Support on  hearing a video of the noise said it is "perfectly normal" and have refused to do any physical examination of the PC.

I do not believe this to be normal. I have owned several HP PCs (admittedly all tower PCS, this is my first All-in-One), and I have never had this issue with any of them. In fact I still have a Pavilion seven years old that is very quiet and I am seriously considering hooking that one back up and abandoning my new All in One PC if this is "normal", as the nosie is irritating while working and not something I experienced with any other PC I've owned.

Any feedback / advice?

Is this really "normal", and if not hwo to I get service if HP Tech Support are refusing to inspect it as they consifder it "normal".....

Greetings @GaryC71

Welcome to the HP Forum.

A CPU fan or system fan should not periodically ramp up and down when doing light tasks such as browsing the Internet or working on a Word document.

I agree, this is very annoying.

Have you checked Task Manager for any run away processes consuming high: CPU, disk, or memory usage when the fan kicks into high gear? I would also check CPU temps and processor behavior using HWiNFO portable.

I can't assist with the HP Support problem; I don't work for HP.

You may not want to try the following, but I would back up data. Do a HP Cloud Recovery or reset the PC. A reset would be muck quicker.

Now run the system clean for a lengthy period of time, only using the HP factory image and required Windows updates, to check fan activity.

Stable fan activity would confirm the hardware is okay.

Regards
