Hello, I would like to upgrade the CPU cooler on an HP Pro 3500, I do know that some boards are proprietary but some people had successfully added a new cpu cooler and wondered if this would work? https://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-i70-CPU-RR-I70-20PK-R1/dp/B08YRH9HXX/ref=asc_df_B08YRH9HXX/?tag... if not I would appreciate suggestions, Thanks

your cpu uses a intel 1155/1156 type cooler
yes the cooler you linked to will fit you motherboard cpu mounting holes, and the fan is a 4 pin PWM unit

It will not work as you need a four pin fan that one is only three pin. You will get an error message every time you boot up

That cooler I linked to was the factor recommended "exact" replacement.
If your system is overheating with the factory cooler and nothing has changed since it was bought, possibly the coolant compound has dried out and is no longer effective . Remove the cooler (not the CPU) and carefully wipe the old heat sink compound off. A tube or package of "artic silver" and blowing out dust may be all that is needed.
