Hello,

do you have an idea how to invalidate this observation?

customer claimed:   the LED at my new hp mini blinks flashing white very often - according to google KI hp pc blinking is indicator of error

HP Pro Mini 400 G9 Desktop PC

Hard drive activity light

Based on the manual

https://kaas.hpcloud.hp.com/pdf-public/pdf_7905512_en-US-1.pdf

on some HP PCs the LED could be RED or WHITE flashing telling errors.

@question1212,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

Thank you for your question.

The white blinking LED the customer is seeing on their HP Pro Mini 400 G9 is the hard drive activity light, and it's working exactly as intended. It simply indicates that the storage (SSD or HDD) is being accessed -for example, when Windows is running background tasks such as indexing, checking for updates, syncing files, or antivirus scans. So, seeing it blink frequently -especially on a new PC- is perfectly normal.

You mentioned that some sources online suggest blinking LEDs can mean errors. While that can be true in some HP systems, those error codes are usually shown as red or amber LED blink patterns, often accompanied by beeping sounds during startup.

Your customer's system's blinking white LED during regular use is not an error code.

Unless the customer is experiencing actual performance issues or error messages, there’s nothing to worry about.

Let me know if you have any other concerns -happy to assist!

Kind Regards,
