HP Z Book
Microsoft Windows 11

I am having an issue with my work computer and have limited functionality to solve the problem. I tried updating the HP S73 Firmware but it’s stuck in kind of a loop. I’ve restarted the computer many times but it’s still displaying an error. The code is Code 14, but when I restart the computer to solve that code it does nothing.

When you do not identify your desktop or laptop PC, you tie our hands behind our backs. Help us to help you.

When logged into Windows, hold down the Windows key and tap the R key once.
That will open the Windows run dialogue

Type in msinfo32 and press enter.

The ninth line is the SKU and the HP product number. Kindly post it in your next reply in your thread.

The System SKU/Product ID will enable us to determine the hardware configuration of your notebook.

Thanks.

Can you boot into Windows and invoke the Device Manager?

Take a look to see if a device has an exclamation point on it.

It does have an exclamation point by it! When I open the device manager it’s saying I don’t have admin permission though, I submitted a request to IT but I guess they’re not taking it seriously because it has a code 14 error. I’ve restarted the system so many times but it doesn’t update the firmware

Ok.

Well, now we know that it is a driver issue.

Unless the IT department will give you Admin access  there isn't anything that you can do to resolve it.
