@aaronlyon79,

That unit only has 2 Sata data headers, so you could not install a Sata Hard drive.

It does have an M.2 SSD slot suitable for a 2280  SSD.  That presents some interesting ideas.

Greetings,

Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

HP does not provide an image of the motherboard (MB) installed in your PC. So it is impossible to know if you have any open SATA ports. It may not be possible to add a second SATA HDD or SATA SSD if your PC's chassis does not support a second SATA storage device.

But your MB does support M.2 PCIe NVME storage.

M.2 devices connect directly to a MB socket. Power and data cable connections are not required.

I don't know where the M.2 socket is on your motherboard because there are no HP motherboard images.

You can get a fast M.2 device. Copy or clone your current factory HDD disk image to the new M.2 device.

Now you can use the new, fast M.2 device as your operating system boot drive and the factory installed slower platter HDD as a data drive.

Regards

@Grzwacz,

It has The Cosmo A6 motherboard which only has 2 SATA data headers, and the M2.SSD as I said.

Hi Wb2001,

I could not find motherboard (MB) images. I checked HP. Should have Googled the motherboard.

That is insane when you can get motherboard images on Google but not at HP Support documents.

I am a slow typist

Sorry to have collided with your response.
