HP Support Assistant displays incorrect product name, serial number, and product number. Can I trust the results when I search for updates?

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.

You cannot trust HP Support Assistant if it cannot find your computer.

The version of HPSA for your older machine is likely as old as any of other drivers for that system.

HPSA might not work any more.

That said, there have not been any driver updates for this Windows 7 system since 2013.

If you need drivers - try / consider:

Open the computer's Home page:  HP Pavilion Slimline s5680t CTO Desktop PC

Right-Click and open Category Software and Drivers

Enter the Operating System > Enter the OS version > Click Change to submit the information

When "All Drivers" populates > click to open "All Drivers"

HP Device Home Page - References and Resources

Learn about your Device - Solve Problems

When the website support page opens, Select (as available) a Category > Topic > Subtopic

NOTE:  Content depends on device type and Operating System

Categories:  Alerts, Warranty Check, HP Drivers / Software and BIOS, How-to Videos, Bulletins/Notices, How-to Documents, Troubleshooting, Manuals > User Guide, Service and Maintenance Guide (Replacement Parts and Procedures), Product Information (Specifications), more

Open

HP Pavilion Slimline s5680t CTO Desktop PC

OR

 HP Product Home

Enter the device type and model name of your HP device

You are welcome.

Old tech is good tech as long as it works.
