I am planning to buy HP T730 thin client and upgrade it with GT 1030 gpu. Is the gpu compatible with HP T730 thin client, and can it run 4K media, movies, youtube, smoothly?

Hello!

Yes, the GT 1030 GPU is compatible with the HP T730 thin client. The HP T730 has a low-profile PCI Express slot that supports the GT 10302. However, while the GT 1030 can handle 4K media playback, its performance prepaidgiftbalance may be somewhat limited. It's equipped with 2GB of GDDR5 memory, which is sufficient for most multimedia tasks, but it may struggle with more demanding 4K content.

For smoother performance, you might consider using the GT 1030 for 1080p content or less demanding 4K videos. If you plan to run more graphically intensive applications or games, you might need a more powerful GPU.

Below is the link to the HP Quickspecs for the model series:

You cannot install a nVidia GT 1030 graphic card.

The GT 1030 card is almost as big as the PC.

If you want a better graphics option than the standard Radeon HD 9000 graphics adapter most of them come with, you will need to buy one that comes configured with the Optional AMD FirePro W2100 discrete graphics card .

I am planing to use it just as a media player under my TV in a replacement of WEB OS on LG 4K TV. It would be used to play YouTube, 1080p,2K and 4K movies, 4K netflix. Will it be sufficient enough wit cpu and 1030 gpu? Thanks for your reply.

You're very welcome.

As I posted earlier the GT1030 won't fit in the t730.

How would you install it?

Sorry, but browsing the specks of firepro it says it is 168 mm long, and gt 1030 low profile is 145 mm. How it couldn't fit in. Does the T730 even support GT 1030, it's a 30W gpu?

The graphics card in the t730 is a tiny thing that is specially designed to fit in the PC.

It's not something you can buy in most places.

Did you look at the dimensions of the t730?

As I wrote earlier, a standard size low profile graphics card is almost as large as the whole PC!

I googled the dimensions of FirePro W2100 and they are 168x69 mmm. Dimensions of low profile GT 1030 are 159x69 mm. How it couldn't fit in, when GT 1030 is a smaller GPU? Dimensions of a case are 67 x 221 x 240 mm

Chapter 3, pages 24 & 25 have the graphics card removal and replacement procedures.

I've never seen a graphics card that looks like that but if you think it will work, then is your decision.
