I am considering upgrading my HP TouchSmart 520-1010uk, as it is creaking at the seams. It currently has 4GB DDR3-1333 RAM and a Pentium G620 processor. The HP website suggests that the RAM can be upgraded with a 2nd 4GB, and the processor to "Core i5-2400s (Sandy Bridge) quad core" or "Core i7-2600s (Sandy Bridge) quad core". I have a few questions:
- There appear to be a variety of sized (different pins) RAM memory modules that appear to match this specification (DDR3-1333). Which one do I need to get for the HP TouchSmart 520-1010uk?
- I have found a "Core i5-2400s (Sandy Bridge) quad core" at a reasonable cost. Please can you advise as to whether the current fan is suitable for this processor?
- Are there any instructions for upgrading the processor - I can only find instructions for updrading the RAM and HD?
- How much quicker is this likely to make the PC i.e. is it worth upgrading?
Thanks

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂
I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers & meet like minded tech enthusiasts!
I've reviewed your post and though the device can be customized or upgraded, I must let you know that HP doesn't recommend it, as the device is set to work at its optimal performance:
Upgrade information listed on the HP website is for your ease, in case you wish to upgrade either way: Click here for details and look under upgrade information for processor & memory (tested & approved by HP to work on your device).
Personally, Its not worth upgrading as the device is obsolete and getting a new device would be more efficient then going through the trouble of finding parts, investing both time and money on the same.
