Hi everyone,
I recently bought a HP Victus 15L Tg02-0110nl gaming computer and I noticed that the configuration is not optimal to run the games I am interested in at 120-144fps (mainly Overwatch and Fortnite).
The configuration is as follows:
- AMD Ryzen 5 5600G processor
- Nvidia RTX 4060 8GB graphics card
- 2x8GB DDR4 3200Mhz RAM
- 500GB SSD
- 350W PSU
After several attempts and troubleshooting, I realized that the CPU is not powerful enough and creates bottlenecks for the GPU. In addition, I would also like to increase the power of the PSU to at least 500W.
In order not to spend too much I looked at the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X processor which guarantees more cores and more cache memory.
However, I don't know what to do about the PSU. Official HP ones are very difficult to find, and I'm afraid that third-party ones are not compatible and that they won't fit inside the case.
500-600W would be enough for me.
Can you help me with some solutions?
Thank you

Welcome to our HP community forum!
Yes, we can help you.
The part numbers for a compatible 500-watt power supply for your HP Victus 15L TG02-0110nl are: L89233-005 / L77487-001 / L77487-003 / L89233-001 ("PSU 500W MT WS20 EPA90").
The fastest processor according to HP's specs for your Erica8 motherboard (SSID: 89D8) is a Ryzen 7 5700G.

You're welcome. I could not verify via HP sources whether the Ryzen 7 5800X is or is not compatible with your PC.
Looking amongst fellow "HP System Victus by HP 15L Gaming Desktop TG02-0xxx" Users, not one of the SSID: 89D8 (Erica motherboard) rigs had a Ryzen 7 5800X installed. This is relevant, as I would be surprised if someone else hadn't tried that processor before: UserBenchmark: HP Victus by HP 15L Gaming Desktop TG02-0xxx Compatible Components.

I tried to find a new power supply, but there is no official HP store for spare parts.
I found some PSUs on eBay, but they cost over $180, it seems really excessive to me.
Furthermore, I had a specialized technician check the configuration and he confirmed that it is totally wrong.
The power supply is not enough to handle the GPU with that CPU, and that CPU is the bottleneck for the whole setup.
And the RTX 4060 graphics card mounted on this computer is actually a "light" version of the standard one.
I am beyond the return deadline so I will have to keep it as is.
How sad HP, you are passing off a business workstation as a gaming PC... how sad.
Never again.

Sorry to hear about your situation. In retrospect, your gaming needs would have been better served with an OMEN 25L/40L system. Can't say that HP is to be blamed, though: shows the importance to research thoroughly what it is you're buying.
Wishing you well,

I'm new to the world of PC gaming, and I trusted the description on the HP Store website.
Description which, unfortunately, turned out to be totally misleading and false.
The 350W power supply is not enough to make this setup work well, so yes, HP is also to blame.
Your support is limited to "hey, you should have thought about that before you bought this"
I'll sell this paperweight and get a decent computer, experience teaches me.
Thanks for your support.

I really shouldn't bite, but for you I'll make an exception: please reference what exactly HP's Victus 15L description was that you claim was so deceptive.
Waiting.
