Good day,
Im using a HP 260 G2 with i3 CPU, 16Gb and a SSD 500 HDD, all with Windows 10 64. I need to add more storage, and I thought of using the PCIe onboard to install a Micro SD card reader, as the PC is connected to internet through RJ-45, and I do not need the Realteck WiFi card.
After all the efort, I can not see the new SD card, not in my PC, nor in Disk Management.
Please advise if there is something I can do to activate this or it is simply impossible to do.
PS: all updates are done, I also installed a Realteck Card reader.
Thank you in advance

You're very welcome.
I looked at the motherboard in that model earlier today to see what other options you have to add extra internal storage, and unfortunately, I don't see any.
I was surprised the PC didn't come with a M.2 SSD slot and only has a WLAN slot.
My 800 G3 DM has a support for a 2.5" SSD, a M.2 WLAN adapter and a M.2 NVMe SSD.

Yes I know, I was also hoping to finda M.2 slot under the SDD but I found nothing, and thats why I switched to the PCIe SD card adapter, but that didnt work either. I guess I have to stick with a USB external drive for good. Thanx for the time.

I know, but after several years in this field, I came to the conclusion: "Never use the same drive for OS and Docs" and thats what I do in every PC, a phisical drive for OS and Progs, and another phisical drive for all the rest.
It became a habit since 2012 as I remember.. lol

That's why I do monthly backups, and if a file is really important, I back it up to my portable hard drive right away.
Plus, I have backups of my backups.
I have never, ever used but one drive in any PC I have ever owned and never lost a single file.
It so easy to just copy all of the folders in my user profile to a portable hard drive once a month.
Anyway, yes you will have to use a USB storage device.
